Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026 · These terms govern your use of transcriptgrab.pages.dev (and any custom domain we use for this service).
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using TranscriptGrab you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
2. What the service is
TranscriptGrab is a free utility that reads the caption tracks YouTube makes available for a video — whether uploaded by the creator or auto-generated — and converts them into text you can copy or download as TXT or SRT. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. YouTube and its trademarks belong to Google LLC. Our service accesses only material that YouTube itself serves publicly for that video.
3. Your responsibilities as a user (important)
Transcripts are the intellectual property of their creators. By using this service you agree to: (a) use transcripts only for lawful purposes — personal study, note-taking, quoting, accessibility, translation or research; (b) respect the rights of the video's creator and YouTube's Terms of Service; (c) not mass-download, redistribute or republish transcripts as your own content without the creator's permission; and (d) not use the service to infringe copyrights. If you want to republish substantial portions of a transcript (for example, in a commercial article), seek permission from the creator first or rely on applicable fair-use/fair-dealing exceptions with proper attribution.
4. Copyright and DMCA
We do not host or store video content or transcripts. If you are a copyright owner (or authorized agent) and believe this service is being used in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at [YOUR-EMAIL-HERE] with: identification of the copyrighted work, the URL(s) or video ID(s) involved, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and your physical or electronic signature. We will review and respond to valid notices, including blocking abusive use of the tool where appropriate.
5. Fair use of the tool itself
To keep the service free and fast for everyone, you agree not to: (a) run abusive automated extraction at volumes that degrade the service for others; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer our infrastructure; (c) use the service to access private, age-restricted or otherwise unavailable videos; or (d) use the service for unlawful purposes. We may rate-limit or block usage patterns that harm the service.
6. No warranty; service "as is"
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Caption availability and quality depend on YouTube and on each video: auto-generated captions in particular can contain errors, and YouTube may change how captions are served at any time, which can temporarily break extraction. Transcripts may be incomplete or inaccurate — always verify critical quotes against the original video. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may modify, suspend or discontinue the service at any time.
7. Advertising and third-party links
The service is funded by advertising delivered by third-party networks such as Propeller Ads and Adsterra. You may encounter display banners, video ads, floating banners, audio ads and sponsored or "smart" links. Ads and sponsored links point to websites operated by third parties. We do not control, endorse or guarantee the content, products, safety or data practices of advertisers or linked sites, and we are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from your interaction with them.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TranscriptGrab and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, from inaccuracies in extracted transcripts, or from any third-party ad or link — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Questions? Contact [YOUR-EMAIL-HERE] or use the details on the About page.
